 The Great Hack Reflection 

     

     My reflection about the movie, The Great Hack woke me up to how careful we need to be with links online. One click can risk our privacy, identity, or even just our whole account will he stolen. So we need to remember always to check our surroundings when we are online. Another thing I learned was that the microphone of our mobile devices may actually be listening to our conversations; everything we do location, searches, or conversations is collected in real-time and sold to big corporations, who then take part in the trillion-dollar data industry. So with the help of this documentary it has opened my eyes to the powerful and dangerous capabilities of data in today's digital world. Every click, every like, or even the length of time we hover over a post is tracked and analyzed to define our predictive behavior pattern. Then that can be used to influence the choice before we even realize it. It was so particularly horrified by the way the companies like Cambridge Analytica gathered personal data without any rights to influence elections, making one realize the ease with which opinions and decisions are swayed online. It is so scary to realize that some apps may be secretly hearing or gathering data from us incomplete permission, and all these things can be sold to advertisers or businesses, targeting us directly by specific content. Because of this documentary it makes me realize that we need to little control when we have on the internet and how easily our digital footprint can turn against us. So that's my biggest reason why I need too much aware now in using internet or website, and I always put in my mind to check the privacy policies and permissions apps ask for so  before I install or use them so that I will protect my privacy. I also realized not to click random links or fill out online games because  I always saw this message "claim your reward" so those things might be traps for collecting personal information. So for my overall, the documentary The Great Hack has opened my eyes and made me understand that data is the new currency-it is powerful, valuable, and dangerous if we don't wise using the internet it cause regret at the end and realize how to used it. We live in a digital age where people's personal information is constantly being collected, so one should be more responsible, alert, and intelligent in managing their privacy and safe use of the internet.

Webinar Reflection

     My reflection on the iLead-CS 2025 webinar I really appreciate for all the speakers it explained well especially the Philippine speaker. However, Dr. Sandhya Madhuri from India really interested me. I was interested in her topic, which included the real-time data management and processing, that it means data is handled while it is happening. She also mentioned data that comes in continuously and has to be processed in a timely manner, for example, online banking, live traffic updates, or social networking. Another point that interested me is when she explained how such a setup works without actually storing all the data, implying it is fast and efficient. This made me realize how fast technological changes are and how many of our lives now depend on systems that can perform well, even we have others task to do. She also mentioned that the patterns or behaviors in the data can sometimes change suddenly, and the system has to keep learning and modifying itself, almost the same way I learn from some new experiences. Because of the webinar I know that the systems had to be that smart, and now I appreciate more how complicated and advanced they are.

     In Another part of her discussion that I found and I said that in my self I think this discussion is interesting so when I know it quite eye-opening was something about federated learning so I listen to her discussion while talking. At first, I thought it hard to understand on what it means, but the way she explained it made it easy to understand. Usually in technology, different copies of information are collected from different users and sent to one place for analysis. But I learned in federated learning, the system stays on each user's device, only sending updates or improvements to the main server instead of gathering all the information together at one place. In this way, personal information is kept private and safe. She also mentioned that Google is currently using this method in mobile applications, for example in auto-correcting things one gets to type without looking at personal messages within it. Now I really got the example. She also told me how these devices, such as our phones or laptops, learn out by themselves and then share their results-not the actual data-with the central system. I also learned words like "local" and "global" models, which basically mean the localized learning that occurs in each device and the combined effect of all the devices coming together. She also mentioned that such systems work in rounds or cycles, which means it would repeat several times until the process would get better. This is what I realized: this type of working is intelligent, secure, and all padded to keep every third person safe while improvements are made to applications and services.

     I mean, that example has been a great help, really. She also told me how these devices, like our phones or laptops, learn on their own and then share just the results-not the actual data-with the central system. I learned new words like "local" and "global" model, meaning really, some learning small in each device, and then the final result of all devices at work. She also said that this kind of system works in rounds or cycles, which means the process is repeated several times until it gets better. I have come to realize that this type of doing things is great, secure, and all padded to keep safe every other person while improvement is made in the applications and services. What really moved me from her talk was how this learned method is very effective in keeping the safety of online security. I realized that actual data never leave the user's device even you delete some data, there is a small chance of data being stolen or leaked. So, even our device has been hacked, the rest will stay perfectly protected. All we know that nowadays have many online threats. I also learned that this method can work for millions of devices at the same time, which makes this very adaptive and useful for big companies. Apart from this, it's also reducing the internet consumption because not every data is being sent back and forth. Another thing I liked was the fair results it is producing because the system learns itself with many diverse users instead of just one datatype.

     

     Overall, I realized that technology have less bias and more inclusive. I never think of those things before, but because of the webinar I realize how valuable and useful they are not only for engineers or programmers, but even for normal people like me and us who interact with technology on a daily basis. I also understand that federated learning not only secures our data, but it also makes the systems smarter by learning from a small set of users coming from different locations, backgrounds, and devices. All we know that it extremely significant in today's  world where everybody utilizes technology uniquely. So for all understanding, we not only protecting the people's privacy, but we also create better tools for everyone. Attending at the webinar in the zoom meeting made knowledgeable after we out at the AVR, I really understood of how technology and privacy can exist, and it motivated me to learn more about how systems can be constructed in safer and smarter manners. I'm really thankful to the speaker Dr. Madhuri, because she made her presentation clear and interesting, and I wanted to learn more about things like data, security on the internet, and how we can responsibly use technology. It reminded me that one day I would like to be a person like her to designs and safeguards our systems.

     On our 10th reflection on CC-105, the 2 reporters, reported the topic "System analysis and Design (Chapter 2)" and "Software Development", 1st reporter. the 2nd reporter, reported the topic "System analysis and Design (Chapter 3)" and "System analysis and Design (Chapter 4)". In this whole discussion I I learned something new that enlighten my learnings about System analysis. For chapter 2 System analysis and Design I learned in this topic about SWOT that means strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. For strength it important in terms of determining the system’s current advantages for example fast performance and easy to use. Weaknesses it helps us to find the limitation of our system for example we find easily the too much lag of the system or hard to maintain so that we can easily address that limitation. Opportunities, opportunities is important because we can look for potential improvements for example new technology, and more features. And for the last one is threats, in making a system we need to protect our system. With the help of threat in SWOT we can identify the risks for example cybersecurity threats, and system crashes. For Software Development I really learned in this topic is about agile and waterfall, for my own understanding agile is flexible and iterative and adapting to changes, while waterfall follows a structured, step-by-step process. 

     For the other reporter I learned to there topic, System analysis and Design chapter 3 is about Gantt chart and Work Breakdown Structure. Because of this topic I improve my understanding about Gantt chart, I learned that it helps to easily calculate our task and dates on when we started making our system my example for is for our documentation I make a Gantt chart that display the task name, dates, and the estimated time in making each task. It's really helpful because we can easily identify all the things that we made on making the system. For Work Breakdown Structure I learned in this it helps us to divides a project into smaller tasks for better organization, task assignment, and time management. It ensures each phase is completed efficiently, reducing risks and improving execution. With the help of that we identify the project objectives, and gathered system requirements. And the last topic of Group 5 is the chapter 4 of System Analysis and Design. In this topic I learned about System Analysis Phase Tasks. That have requirements modeling, data and process modeling, object modeling, development strategies. For requirements modeling, it helps to identifies user needs and system functionalities through interviews. Data and process modeling this phase represents on how how data flows and is processed within the system. For object modeling it helps to  define system components with the help of that it shows the attributes and behavior of the system. And the last one development strategies it helps to decide what is the best approach for system development.

     For the other time our instructor use the time for the consultation for documentation for our Figma project. In this time I really realized that listening to the discussion helps me a lot in terms of making project because some discussion helps you to gained information even that information is not really large but that think helps you in small thing. That's all I learned in the whole week of discussion in CC-105, hopefully on the next discussion I learned another knowledge and information for this subject.

    On our 9th Reflection on CC-105, on Monday we check our test papers after we check and know the scores all most of them got the average score and I really know that all of us have a cheerful day because of that result. I learned on this week is always encourage my self to study hard and be ready to all the challenge that came in my life. I realize that all the things that I do from studying to listening to our instructor really inspire me because it is not wasted all my efforts to get that score on the exam.

     On the next day our group reported the Cost - Benefit Analysis, Project Management Challenge, and Risk and Return. On the Cost-benefit analysis I learned in this topic, it is refers to the evaluation of both the benefits and costs of any project mostly on monetary terms. Cost-benefit analysis acts as the best means of helping a decision maker determine whether it is worth investing in something. This is done by these following steps: first, identifying a list of costs and benefits to be measured; second, putting a dollar value on each; and third, determining the net present value. If benefits exceed costs, the project is deemed viable. Cost-benefit analysis, therefore, leads to an efficient allocation of resources and reduced financial risks, which is relevant for use by businesses, states, or organizations in making decisions. In project management I also learned even you a challenge in your project you need to focus on track, because that challenge is a way to learn and think. For the risk and return I learned in this topic is, if you invest you need to expect that investment have small return or higher. You need think outside the ring and make that thought helps to make wise on taking the risk and return.

     For the other time our instructor give the Grades. In this time I really realized that all of my effort was not wasted and I really happy with that. I also realized that study hard makes me better to the task and to all activities. That's all I learned in the whole week of discussion in CC-105, hopefully on the next discussion I learned another knowledge and information for this subject.

     On our 8th Reflection on CC-105, our instructor give enough time to do the documentation and enough time to study for incoming examination. For making the documentation I gathered information from the articles, this articles help me a lot to understand the flow of the documentation in this time I realize that giving enough time for doing particular task helps me to concentrate and doing multi-tasking task. Concentrate, even this week have many activities, projects, and presentation happens It didn't confuse my self on what task need to do first, that's why concentration have big impact on my self, time management also helps me to overcome this worn out week. I'm really contented to the things that happen in my entire week, that's includes sharing of idea, laughing, and helping my co-student. With the help of that we prepared ourself for the incoming examination it is important to become will conscious on our mind before examination for better result.

     On the present day of examination March 7, 2025 Friday on 5:30 to 6:30 PM we exactly start our examination, all questions on the test paper came out from the start of our discussion from Information Management to Fundamentals of Business Process Management and BPMN. I'm really thankful because all my effort of studying the lesson is not wasted especially the 7 cycle System Development Life Cycle. I'm also thankful to our instructor Sir Dexter because he didn't lack of reminders for us if we have questions or clarification he really willing to educate us, that's type of attitude really enlighten us and willingness to listen for entire weekend. The feeling of willingness to study deeply for the next discussion. After this examination I'm really cheerful because all most of my co-student faces really happy for successfully finishing the examination. 

     After the examination we rest and back from the start for another discussion. In this time I really realized that time management, willingness and concentration gives me a big impact on how to manage my daily life situation even I have many task to finish I can manage it without confusing I can really handle all that things in queue. Hopefully all of us get average score for the examination not only in this subject but also in the other subject. That's all I learned in the whole week of preparation in CC-105, hopefully on the next week I learn another knowledge and information for this subject.

     On our 7th reflection on CC-105 it has start from Monday discussion, our instructor told us to do this project, the project called figma page. The project is all about Edsa with Filipinos in the 20th century that have the section home, about, events, and also the projects need pictures for informative also our project need logo and footer. On this day I am really thinking on what design and structure that I need to do when I know all the information I gained confident to create the figma page about Edsa Revolution.

     On Tuesday, February 25, 2025 no classes due to celebrate the Edsa Revolution. On this Day I started creating the figma project from the scratch. First I started from putting 7 Frames for home, about, and event for the other frames I use it to put there the information of each events that I added. after that I'm searching for the background wallpaper to make it look like vintage. Then I put text for the buttons (home, about, event,) after that I use the prototype for function. When I feel contented for the function, I go back for designing. In this part I put the footer the logo, header, and short poster about Edsa Revolution. For my about I created the short history about Edsa Revolution in 20 century. For the last frame (events) I inserted 4 pictures that represent the history and process of the Edsa Revolution. This is the history started February 22, 1986 (Day 1) - The Military Breaks away this is the time when thousands of civilians begin to gather at EDSA, February 23, 1986 (Day 2) - People Power Grows this time Marcos orders the military to disperse the crowd, February 24, 1986 (Day 3) - Marcos' Control Weakens this is the time, Marcos appears on national television, and for day 4 February 25, 1986 (Day 4) - Marcos Flees, Cory Aquino Becomes President, this time Marcos flee. 

     For Wednesday and Thursday we continue created our system about grading system, using the same website (figma). In this time I really realized that thinking critically gives me a big impact for a advance idea for making the particular task. That's all I learned in the whole week of discussion in CC-105, hopefully on the next discussion I learned another knowledge and information for this subject.

     On our 6th reflection, our instructor explained the functional specification for our documentation in figma, from the title to flowchart/references in this kind of activity I learned that we did not need to rush our project or activity all we need to do is to be contented for the progress the we've done even it is slight or immense being a person that have a great patience lead to peace of mind.

     On the next day, the group 1 reported the departmentalization and Information System Planning for this presentation of group 1 I learned  the 5 departmentalization, the first one is functional departmentalization as I learned this departmentalization helps to organize the  employees that base on there jobs like example finance and marketing this helps to improve the expertise, the second departmentalization is product, this departmentalization is important because it divides the company that base on the different products that focus on the development of the products and the sales, the third departmentalization is geographical, as I remember to this departmentalization it helps to serve local customers and also this departmentalization adapts on the regional markets, the fourth departmentalization is process, this departmentalization only works and providing workflow of the products for the of efficiency and specialization, and the last one is customer departmentalization all we know that if there's a no customer we don't have sales so with the help of this departmentalization it provides specialized services that helps to meet the needs of the different customers. 

    For Information System Planning, I really understand to this presentation Information System Planning it gives us plan on how we improve the planning process. Also I realized the three process that gives a big impact on the project the value chain analysis, Information System Planning, and Corporate Strategic planning. My own understanding of this, for the value chain analysis, it helps us to identify key activities on the products that helps to reduce the cost and the important thing is to create a competitive advantages, for the second one is Information System Planning for me this project selection is most important because is aligns to IT System that helps enhance our business goals and also for the efficiency and future growth, and for the last one is corporate strategic planning it helps to ensure the success of our business that ensure the sustainable growth and marketing success. After the reporting of group 1 we proceed on the quiz on the next day, thankfully all most of us got the average score.

      For the other time we only continue discussing on our figma project. In this time I really realized that listening carefully on the discussion give me a big impact on how to adapt on the situation and thanks for the group 1 it give there best in sharing there ideas. That's all I learned in the whole week of discussion in CC-105, hopefully on the next discussion I learned another knowledge and information for this subject.

     On our 5th reflection we discuss about Fundamentals of business process management and BPMN, in this discussion I learned that If we create a company for the value is we need to think to this step first the Modeling it help us to visualize our presentation on creating business processing, the second step is to Analysis it help us to Identify Inefficiencies and the important think is we know on what we need to improve to our areas or businesses, the third one is Design all we know design is important because with the help of that it exist and improve our business process that help to achieve our goal to become successful in our business, the fourth is execution so on this step we gathered all our information that we gained start in the modeling, analysis, and design, we implementing the optimized processes. And the last but not the least is monitoring this is very crucial to our business because with the help of this we easily fix the errors or if there's need to improve and also we need to track the performance to ensure continuous improvement.

     If there's a need for creating companies needs they have also the company that can't buy in this discussion I really realized that not everyone can buy money, they have a unique thing that can never buy with the money. Like example teamwork and communication this type of capability can't buy money because teamwork is came from our heart on how you deal our knowledge to our teammates, on how you communicate to them. My other example is knowledge and skills, this type of capability can't buy money also because this type of capability is like default on your characteristic, knowledge is came to your experiences, and skills came to the things that you made inshort our abilities. And my last example is strategy, strategy can't buy money also because this is came in your mind on how you make innovation for the goals and for adapting the changes to take efforts.

     For the discussion in Business process I learned to that discussion
is about characteristics of the business as I remembered they have a Process goals, Process steps and Continues improvement for the process goal, this business characteristic is important because first you need to do is to set goals, we can't build something if we don't have goals. For process steps it we must learn to wait for the process, we must not rush it so that we can do our work correctly. And the last characteristic of the business process is continuous improvement, this is very important because every time an hour passed the things will change faster that's why continuous improvement is important for always updated to the new things.

     For the other time we only continue discussing on our figma project. In this time I really realized that teamwork and communication is very useful in terms of sharing of ideas. That's all I learned in the whole week of discussion in CC-105, hopefully on the next discussion I learned another knowledge and information for this subject.
